BIOGRAPHY
The artist completes his third new Gilbert & Sullivan role this year as Captain Corcoran in H.M.S. Pinafore with Delaware Valley Opera:
Seán Kroll's Captain Corcoran...a stunning performance...Kroll showed an incredible ability to balance his character into equal parts lighthearted when appropriate, and serious when necessary. Kroll appears as truly talented and dedicated actor who's personality shines bright. -
River Reporter
As the Captain of the Pinafore, Sean Kroll has the carriage and demeanor down; his comic timing, clear, strong voice and priceless expressions make for a right good Captain too. -
Aisle Seat
Debuting the role of Ko-Ko in the spring of 2019, Seán Kroll performed in The Mikado with the Bronx Opera to critical acclaim:
The role of Ko-Ko, the reluctant erstwhile Lord High Executioner, was undertaken by Seán Kroll...there were no reservations about his singing. ’Willow, tit-willow’ was right on the mark. -
Seen & Heard International
His voice is made for this kind of light opera, especially in his sweet rendition of 'On a Tree by a River.' -
Schmopera
As Ko-Ko, Sean Kroll brought a youthful, and often frantic, vitality to the role of the older guardian. -
Opera Wire
Seán Kroll, towering physically above the remainder of the cast, was properly snide as Ko-Ko. -

Figaro was baritone Seán Kroll, also a fine singer… He had the cocky, “I know what I’m doing” air of a good Figaro while also being the avuncular figure Rosina and the story need. –

Kroll is well suited to the character Placido, whom he portrays as both the modern day New York City Opera aspirant and the 19th century bullfighter, Escamillo, a character that somewhat parallels Placido’s own life. –
